Students made a cross curricular connection to what they have learned in Social Studies about Pakistan, the Taliban and restrictions put on females. I hope this story inspires many.
Happy Reading!

.
Students are reading I Am Malala; an exciting story of a girl who lives in Pakistan under the Taliban which has taken control of her region. Malala overcomes her obstacle of being a female denied an education. She is on a quest to beat the odds and fights for her education. She paves the way in helping other girls gain an education in this male dominant region. Malala goes on to become a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Students who had half or none of their Tell Tale Heart Project completed will have another chance to hand it in.
Students are to write me an Argumentative Letter persuading me to accept their late Project. The students who had a missing component of their project (seen by me on Friday) will receive a grade of 80%. The students who had little to nothing of their project on Friday will receive a grade of 70%. It is important to get your assignments done on time. I always support you with classroom time. This opportunity is a one time thing. Parents thank you for your support. Sincerely, Mrs. Rodriguez |
