Mrs. Rodriguez
Today is technically the last day of school. It is unlike anything we ever experienced. The Character Words we use in school each month will now have a different meaning to you. Some of you have shown resilience throughout this time. I want to thank you for the laughs, learning and the great conversations we had this year. I want all of you to continue reaching higher to reach your true potential. Be hungry for learning, personal growth and above all apply yourself wholeheartedly to whatever you do! My door will always be open to you. I wish you the best in 8th grade.

Dear Rising 8th Grade Parents and Students,
We are looking forward to your 8th grade experience here at Floyd. We are currently preparing our connection schedule for the coming year. Please use the link below to take note of the course offerings that are yearlong and those that are one semester long. Parents, assist your student in selecting the connection classes that best represent his or her future high school pathway. We can offer NO GUARANTEE your student will receive the selection of his or her choice. Make sure you prioritize your choices using the rating 1-5. You will use the number 5 multiple times, but you will only use the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 ONE time. 1. First Choice 2. Second Choice 3. Third Choice 4. Fourth Choice 5. Least wanted Choice Foreign Language class selection is prioritized based on student Lexile scores. Music class selection is prioritized based on previous years of enrollment in the music genre selected. **Students requiring ESOL, Reading Support and/or Math Support classes will be placed by administration and scheduled based on test scores and grades. These courses will be required for students who need additional academic support. While these classes are year-long, students making proficient progress will be allowed to exit. If you have any questions about these offerings you may contact Ms. Miano via email. Thank you for your assistance with this process.
