READ, READ, READ- Students are required to Read! Students have fifteen minutes a day built into their Language Arts class to do Independent reading during class time. During this time they are to read and summarize their reading on a Reading Log. It is also important that students are encouraged to read at home. Parents, I need your help with this! Please set aside time for your child to read and log their reading time. A Reading Log has been provided for them. Studies shows that when students spend time reading each night their reading level increases. Thank you for your support! It takes a Village! Mrs. Rodriguez
Students will read and analyze texts that present characters who for personal or cultural reasons, have made choices about the way they live their lives. Students will read fiction and nonfiction texts and present original works that express the concept of choice. Students will engage in collaboration and individual writing groups to display their learning and expression of ideas. Keep checking back for updates!
We kicked off the new school year with our Meet and Greet on July 27, 2017. It was a huge success! It was wonderful meeting new students and visiting with former students. Thank you to all the parents and students who showed up. I am looking forward to a great year. Mrs. Rodriguez
It is important that students come to school prepared (books, supplies, and assignments). There are many students who are not bringing their notebooks or supplies to school. Please remember that school is still in session and learning is still taking place. Let us finish the year strong! Ms. Rodriguez
